Privacy Policy for StillPlaying

StillPlaying is provided by Shooka Web, based in Denmark.

This policy explains how StillPlaying handles information when you use the app to discover and control Bose SoundTouch speakers and play internet radio.

Summary

StillPlaying does not require an account and Shooka Web does not currently collect, receive, sell, or use personal data from the app for analytics, advertising, tracking, or profiling.

The app stores settings locally on your device so it can remember your speakers, favourite radio stations, language setting, and other preferences. The app also makes network requests that are necessary for its features, including requests to radio directory services, radio stream providers, your speakers on your local network, and app update infrastructure.

Information Stored on Your Device

StillPlaying stores the following information locally on your device:

This information is stored on your device using the device's normal app storage. Shooka Web does not receive this information unless you choose to send it to us, for example when asking for support.

You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device. Some speaker settings changed through the app, such as speaker name, volume, bass, clock display, or source selection, may remain on the speaker itself.

Local Network Access

StillPlaying uses local network access to find and control Bose SoundTouch speakers on your Wi-Fi network.

The app sends requests directly between your phone and your speakers. These requests may include speaker control commands, speaker status requests, speaker names, speaker IP addresses, volume, bass, clock display settings, source selection, and now-playing information returned by the speaker.

These local network requests are not sent to Shooka Web.

Internet Radio and Radio Directory Requests

The app uses internet radio directory and streaming services so you can browse, search for, favourite, and play radio stations.

When you browse or search for radio stations, the app sends your search query or browsing request to the radio directory service used by the app. At the time of this policy, the app uses the RadioTime OPML API at opml.radiotime.com.

When you play a station, the app may contact the radio directory service to resolve the station stream URL. Your phone and/or your speaker may then connect to the radio stream provider to play the audio.

These third-party services may receive technical information that is normally sent with internet requests, such as your IP address, request time, requested station or search URL, device or app network headers, and related connection information. Shooka Web does not control the logs or privacy practices of those third-party services.

App Updates

StillPlaying may use platform and app update infrastructure to deliver or check for app updates. These services may receive normal technical request information such as IP address, app version, device platform, request time, and similar diagnostics needed to provide updates.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

StillPlaying does not currently include analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, third-party tracking SDKs, or in-app tracking for favourited stations, searches, or app usage.

Shooka Web may consider adding privacy-respecting analytics in the future to understand which features users find useful. If that happens, this policy will be updated before the change is released, and the app will request consent where required by law or platform rules.

Legal Basis

Where the GDPR applies, the app's current processing is mainly necessary to provide the functionality requested by the user, such as discovering speakers, controlling speakers, searching for radio stations, saving favourites, and playing radio.

For local preferences stored only on your device, the purpose is to remember your settings and improve usability. For support requests, Shooka Web will process the information you choose to provide in order to respond to you.

Data Sharing

Shooka Web does not sell your data.

Shooka Web does not share app usage data with advertisers or data brokers.

The app does make necessary requests to third-party services for radio browsing, radio playback, app updates, and platform services. Those services process the technical information they receive according to their own privacy practices.

Data Retention

Information stored by the app remains on your device until you delete it in the app, overwrite it, or uninstall the app.

Shooka Web does not currently keep server-side app analytics or usage logs for StillPlaying.

If you contact Shooka Web for support, we may keep your message and related correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request and maintain reasonable business records.

Children

StillPlaying is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your Rights

If the GDPR applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data that Shooka Web processes about you.

Because StillPlaying currently stores app data locally on your own device and Shooka Web does not receive that app data, Shooka Web may not have access to the data stored in your app. You can delete local app data by deleting the app from your device.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Denmark, the supervisory authority is Datatilsynet.

Changes to This Policy

Shooka Web may update this policy when the app changes, for example if analytics, new radio providers, accounts, cloud features, or other data processing features are added.
